3:05Now PlayingThe Maharashtra government has become the first in the country to acquire private ambulances and vehicles for the use of COVID patients. The decision was taken after several complaints were made by the patients that the private ambulances were charging exorbitant fee for the transport of COVID patients. Municipal Corporations have been given the power to acquire the vehicles as required as per RTO rules and set the price accordingly. The state government directive says that the directive applies in cases where district authorities face infrastructure shortage. Cases of COVID have been surging in the state, which has led to the government extending the lockdown till July 31.
