3:37Now PlayingAfter nearly a week of more than 2000 COVID-19 positive patients in Chennai, the Health Department breathes a sigh of relief as numbers for Sunday and Monday the numbers go below 1800. This development was attributed to the 6th total lockdown Chennai underwent from 19th June to 5th July.
However, the situation still doesn’t seem to be under control as numbers have begun to rise in other districts, such as Madurai, Thiruvallur, Villupuram, Virudhunagar and Ranipet. 334 people have turned Coronavirus positive from Temple City in the past 4 days. This has forced State to put Madurai under total lockdown until 12th July.
Furthermore, the emphasis is also being given to applying of non-medical techniques and discussion is on over usage of repurposed and new drugs with medical teams. State Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanisamy, on the other hand, stated that people have to cooperate to combat Coronavirus.
