4:06Now PlayingIn a bid to ease the burden on the crumbling healthcare infrastructure in Bengaluru, the civic body had issued advisories to all apartment complexes to set up COVID Care Centres within their premises itself. This would help reduce the dependency on government infrastructure and ensure that the patients in apartments get timely help.
But startlingly, of the thousands of apartments in Bengaluru, only 4 apartments have actually set up the COVID Care Centres or have almost set up the centres. Whereas, only 16 have come forward with proposals to set up the centres. Resident Welfare Associations allege that there are several challenges with setting up the CCCs within the premises right from infrastructure to hiring paramedics to work in the centres.
While the BBMP has laid down guidelines for Resident Welfare Associations to adhere to, not much is being done from the BBMP to encourage the apartments to set up COVID Care Centres.
