Bengaluru's private hospitals are exposed to overcharging a fortune in order to transport COVID patients. Around eleven hospitals were questioned upon and what was revealed that just for 6-7 kilometre distance, the ambulances are charging as high as Rs 15,000 for ambulance services. The price differs when the ambulances come with a ventilator, they are charged up to Rs 8,000 more than the usual. Most of the private hospital entities are charging such a huge amount because all hospitals are doing it. The patients who have to seek ambulance services amid a pandemic are finding it very difficult to commute and pay such a huge price.
