21:43Now PlayingPrivate ambulances in Bengaluru are trying to make windfall gains by the COVID situation by overcharging patients when they call in for an ambulance. Bengaluru's private hospitals are exposed to overcharging a fortune in order to transport COVID patients. Around eleven hospitals were questioned upon and what was revealed that just for 6-7 kilometre distance, the ambulances are charging as high as Rs 15,000 for ambulance services. The price differs when the ambulances come with a ventilator, they are charged up to Rs 8,000 more than the usual. Most of the private hospital entities are charging such a huge amount because all hospitals are doing it. The patients who have to seek ambulance services amid a pandemic are finding it very difficult to commute and pay such a huge price.
