Now, in Tamilnadu e-pass is only provided for 4 reasons,

- Medical Emergency
- Close relatives attending a funeral.
- those who got stranded.
Speaking on the issue, Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner Prakash stated that the matter would be looked into.
