as posted by the channelThe Delhi Police has arrested JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) student Sharjeel Imam in the North-east Delhi riots case. He has been booked under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act). Shrajeel Imam was earlier arrested for making inflammatory speeches and was already in the custody of the Assam police.
Our correspondent Alok Singh brings reports about the charges against Sharjeel Imam. He says that earlier he was also arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch for his provocative speeches in December 2019 when there was a lot of violence happening in Jamia Milia Islamia and was later sent to judicial custody. As he was talking about the Nort-eastern states, the Assam Police also registered a case against them and now the Special case during the time of investigation after the violence that took place in Delhi.
