4:07Now PlayingChennai: Serosurvey results reveal the constant COVID spike in the city. 1/5th of the Chennai population has been exposed to the virus. 21.5% of the population found with anti-bodies in the city. 80% of the population is susceptible to COVID-19.
12,405 samples were tested for anti-bodies out of which 2,673 showed exposure with a seroprevalence of 21.5%. Mirror Now's Pramod Madhav says a lot of caution was practised while coming to the numbers. Samples were collected between 18th July to 26th July. A surge was seen in the month of August across the state of Tamil Nadu. There is huge varying seroprevalence in various zones in Chennai.
