The Home Ministry has decided to accord Actor Kangana Ranaut Y-plus category security in view of a renewed threat to her after she spoke about drug use among a section in the film industry following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The Y-plus category central cover entails deployment of about 10 armed commandos with the protectee.
Reacting to the move, Kangana Ranaut thanked Home Minister Amit Shah in a tweet, saying he could have advised her to visit Mumbai after a few days considering the present situation, but he “honoured the words of a daughter of the country and her self-respect.”
