56:18Now PlayingOn the Urban Debate with Tanvi Shukla, we take up the misleading stance of UP Government's in the Hathras Gangrape case. A 19-year-old Dalit woman in Uttar Pradesh was gang-raped by four upper-caste men in Hathras District on September 14. The victim succumbed to her injuries in Delhi's Safdarjung hospital. She was left in a pathetic condition with her tongue chopped off and the body paralyzed.
The victim was forcibly cremated by the UP Police midnight at around 2:45 am without her family's consent. Surprisingly, the UP Police made claims that they had the consent of the family which were rebuffed by the girl's father.
BL Vohra, former DGP said not one political party since Independence has thought of doing police reforms. They don’t want to let the control of the police go from their hands, for their own vested interests.
