However, due to a recent update that mentioned the app will no longer be safe for use from a privacy-protective, the app seems to have lost all credibility and its user base. WhatsApp recently talked about a new update that mentioned how the users can no longer stop their data from being shared with apps like Facebook. People came up with rumors that lead the users to believe that WhatsApp in fact reads their private chats. It wasn't long before the app Tumbled in it's ranking on the app store, both on Google and apple. WhatsApp, however, recently did come out and addressed what they allege are false rumors.
WhatsApp has launched a full-fledged advertising campaign following a massive row that erupted over fears of data leaks post the app's latest update.
