In his speech, he urged all to wear masks, until the vaccine is available in the state for common people, and strictly follow social distancing norms when going out. Thackeray further stated that ‘We are getting the vaccine slow. Since there is no medicine, presently our main protection is wearing the mask’. He added, "Our new Covid motto is: 'I am responsible."
