The list included interim party president Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Sachin Pilot, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Abhijit Mukherjee, and Mohd Azharuddin. The ‘G-23' founders, on the other hand, have been left off the list.
In a letter to the Election Commission, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said that the following leaders of the Indian National Congress will be campaigning under Section 77(1) of the Representation of People Act 1951 for the upcoming first phase of legislative assembly elections in West Bengal, which will be held on March 27.
