The Finance Minister in the Union Budget 2021 announced the scrappage policy for both personal and commercial vehicles. The government has advised the manufacturers to provide a 5% discount on the purchase of new vehicles against a scrapping certificate that will be given out after giving up the old vehicle. There is also a road tax rebate of 25% for personal vehicles. The life of the personal vehicle has been set for 15 years for Delhi NCR, but across the country, the life has been set to 20 years.
