Maharashtra continues to be one of the worst-hit states from the second wave of COVID and the state is witnessing an acute shortage of vaccine doses. and amidst all of this, the Government in the state has decided to halt the vaccination drive for the 18-44 age group, citing shortage. He further adds that the Centre is unable to provide vaccines for second doses as well. Rajesh Tope further adds that the cabinet has decided to divert the vaccine procured for the 18+ group to the 45+ group, in order to administer the second dose to them.
