19:22Now PlayingJoint Heath Secretary, Lav Agarwal, briefs India on the Covid situation. The country has logged 91,702 fresh covid cases in a day, indicating an over decline in cases in the country. As per reports, a total of 78% drop in daily cases since the second wave peak has been observed since May 7th by the government. An overall recovery rate is also nearly 95% now. According to the latest data, 19.85 crore people have received the vaccine’s 1st dose. Additionally, Dr VK Paul, Member, Niti Aayog, elaborates on the situation, stating that it is stable but suggests not putting the guard down yet, and continue to prcatice covid appropriate behaviour of social distancing and wearing masks. He states that a decline in cases does not mean that the pandemic is over.
