On The Urban Debate today, Tanvi Shukla indulges in the discussion regarding the rise in child labour in 20 years with Kailash Satyarthi. The Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, Child Rights Advocate, says that it will be too late if we don't act now on the child crisis. There have been children who have been orphaned due to the Covid pandemic is higher than 30,000, and the reality is uglier than the numbers shown. He further adds that many cases were not recorded as part of the Covid deaths due to the wrong RT-PCR reports. He thinks that the orphaned children should not be put in child care homes. Instead, they should be made to live with a close relative. The government should also support the kid financially and take regular feedback about the same.
