The fear that Khumbh meal could become a reason for virus spread across the country seems to come true. Various devotees who went to Khumbh could have been the spreaders but have gone undetected. Uttarakhand government issued a 1600 page preliminary report that mentioned that 1 lakh COVID tests were fake by a single collection agency. In total, over four lakhs of tests were conducted by nine collection agencies and 22 private labs.
