2:11Now PlayingDespite holding the company accountable for losses, the Supreme Court expressed unhappiness with the National Green Tribunal's (NGT) decision to include an Oil India Ltd (OIL) employee in a 10-member committee to analyze biodiversity damages caused by the fire at Assam's Baghjan oil well. It stayed the NGT's decision to form the committee. The group was tasked with developing a remedial restoration plan for the Dibru-Saikhowa National Park and the Maguri-Motapung Wetland, both of which were harmed by the 172-day fire at an oil well in Tinsukia region. Last year, the well caught fire, killing two OIL firefighters. Listen in!
