18:31Now PlayingA new digital payments mode, e-RUPI, was launched under National Payments Corporation of India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI). E-RUPI is a cashless and contactless instrument for digital payments. It acts as an e-voucher based on a QR code or SMS string, which is delivered to the mobile phones of the beneficiaries. It can be used without having access to internet or payment applications. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called this a step towards futuristic reforms. This will be another addition under India's shift towards digital payment methods. He added that this should be considered as a coupon that the government can pass on to citizens.
