After the state's schools reopened on August 2nd, 60 students were found to be positive for Covid-19. As the number of cases rises, the government has decided to close all schools in the state until August 22nd as a preventative measure. The worst-affected areas are Kullu, Kangra, and Shimla, where a recent tourist influx was observed. Apart from Himachal Pradesh, the virus was detected in 27 children in Punjab. Twenty-one kids were alone from two Ludhiana schools out of a total of twenty-seven. Meanwhile, in Haryana, the first school to reopen following the lockdown found six positive cases among children.
