7:25Now PlayingEven as experts warn of an impending third wave, citizens continue to flout the COVID appropriate behaviour. In the last three months, the city of Bengaluru has seen a considerable increase, a tenfold increase in people being fined for not wearing masks. Commercial establishments have opened for business, and people are seen letting their guard down as cases are dwindling. While in June, around 100 or 150 mask violations were being witnessed daily, now in the month of August, the city has seen an increase, with nearly 800-1000 persons being fined. A total of 887 marshals are deployed across the city to check and find people for violating COVID appropriate behaviour, such as not wearing masks and not maintaining social distancing. At present, Karnataka reports a daily caseload of 1,300, while the city of Bengaluru reports around 400 cases.
