More than 50% of promised oxygen plants by the state are still not operational in Gujarat. After missing the deadline, the state government has again set a deadline of September 15 to meet the target 100%. Gujarat was the second-worst affected state with the COVID cases during the peak of the second wave. During the peak of the second wave, Gujarat also faced a heavy shortage of oxygen.
