The farmers are protesting under the leadership of farmer leader Rakesh Tikait. They remain stern on their demand which clearly states that an action should be taken against the Karnal SDM and compensation needs to be provided. The agitation is said to be against the August 28 Laathicharge. Previously, the Haryana government and Karnal administration had defended the SDM. Karnal SDM had made a provocative speech ahead of the Laathicharge, the video of which, went viral on social media.
