10:20Now PlayingThe Anti-Conversion Bill has been passed in the Karnataka Assembly. This is an extremely controversial bill that has been rising several speculations over the weeks now. Essentially this bill says that marriage for unlawful conversion will be declared void now. Offences under the act are non-bailable and there will be a 3 to 10-year jail term for forced conversion especially in cases of minors and SC and ST groups. Bill mentions jail terms, as well as fines for mass conversions and the accused, will have to pay over 5 lakh rupees compensation to the victim.
