Gerard Towers, a social activist said questioned the role of the police in the moral policing of students. There have been instances in which far-right groups and sometimes the Police have arrested students and young people travelling in buses. This 'moral policing' has become rampant in a town that is populated with many outstation students. Our ground reporter also spoke to N Shashi Kumar, CP of Manguluru City, who said that a few incidents of moral policing have occurred in 2021 and the civic group has urged to stop it as many international students are present in the city.
