11:40Now PlayingDr V.K Paul from NITI Aayog, told a press conference today that the country is pursuing the possibility of booster doses to fight against the Omicron variant of COVID-19. Dr Paul urged everyone to be extra vigilant and stressed that Indian science and research capabilities are exemplary and that a decision on booster doses will be taken based on hard science. He also added that a decision on vaccines for children and additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine will be taken on the basis of 'scientific principles' and the 'overarching interest of the people of India.' Meanwhile, India has registered 358 cases of Omicron in 17 states. No death has been recorded till date.
