Sivan, whose tenure is scheduled to end on the 14th of January. Dr Somanath was the director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Kerala. The former rocket scientist will now helm the organisation that looks after India's interests in space. K. Sivan's tenure saw several important milestones including Chandrayan and the development of Chandrayan-II. Dr S.
