The study also revealed that Omicron is 'less severe' and linked to a low rate of hospitalisation. Delhi has been witnessing an alarming rise of COVID-19 cases with a sharp spike seen in infections. The positivity rate has also crossed the 30% mark. But, fortunately, the hospitalisation rates are low and the state government has also claimed that ample beds are available in the city's hospitals. The capital had been one of the worst affected in the second wave of COVID-19 in 2021. Hospitals had been over-flooded and an acute shortage of oxygen was reported almost universally.
