They requested BMC not to remove the stump of the tree so that the tree could be restored and recovered. However, Bombay Municipal Corporation has asked for a copy of the Bombay High Court order that stay the chopping of the tree and also asked for an explanation on 'why they think the chopping of the tree is illegal?' BMC also said that if the residents fail to bring the copy of orders then, they will remove the stump as well. Remember that an activist was detained for protesting against the cutting of a heritage tree in the Ville parle area of Mumbai 2 days back.
