Two contrasting events are happening in India. On one hand, the first case of the new Covid variant Omicron XE was found in Mumbai last week. On the other hand, last week also saw the rollout of booster doses for all age groups. So where does that leave India in this pandemic?
"COVID is still very much here. So, there is no place for complacency. COVID-appropriate behaviours have been very helpful. Have to now focus on vaccination," says Vaccine Panel Chief Dr NK Arora when asked about mask mandates.
