1:13Now PlayingAfter a deadly gas leak in a fish factory in Mangaluru late Sunday night, three West Bengal laborers perished and another eight were reported to be critically ill. The fish factory is located within the Bajpe police station limits in Mangaluru's Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The incident occurred while the fish waste was being processed and the tank was being cleaned. One of the workers had entered the tank to clean it and passed out. Around eight people who attempted to save him became ill and had breathing problems. The police believe the event occurred as a result of a dangerous gas leak that occurred during the processing of fish waste. The actual explanation, however, has yet to be determined.
