Six months ago, violence broke out in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, during a Farmers' protest. 8 people, including some farmers, ended up dead. He is Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni's son. On 4th April, the apex court had reserved its order on the same plea saying that his influential family background could make attempts to destroy evidence in the case, if he were to let out. He was arrested on 9th October, 6 days after the protest.
