The Supreme Court-appointed committee on Friday held that the 2019 encounter at Hyderabad was fake and recommended that the 10 police officers be tried for murder for the killing of four rape and murder accused. The Commission headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice VS Sirpurkar to inquiry into the alleged Hyderabad encounter killings of December 2019 has found that the suspects died due to the injuries caused by the bullets fired by the police party. "People celebrated this 'fake' encounter because in India there is inordinate delay in getting justice. Don't think for another 15-20 years this case would've reached a judgment stage," says Arvind Jain, Fmr DGP of Uttar Pradesh. Watch out for more such updates.
