The busting of a module headed by local Lashkar-e-Taiba LeT terrorist Mohammad Amin, who is currently operating from Pakistan and attempting to reignite militancy in the Chenab valley region, led to the arrest and recovery of the IED. Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, said Irshad Ahmad was apprehended during a joint search operation by police, army, and CRPF in the Dhandal-Kastigarh area of Doda district. He added that the search operation, which was based on specific intelligence, resulted in the recovery of an IED, a cellphone, and other evidence from the apprehended suspect's home.
