Following the controversy, Nupur Sharma, and Naveen Jindal, were removed as BJP spokespersons. Both the leaders have apologised over the comment after action was taken against them. The BJP then read a statement on Sunday afternoon, stressing that the ruling party is “against any ideology which insults or demeans any sect or religion.”
