1:49Now PlayingThe Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has been unable to organise elections that have been due since December 2021, as well as for outside interference and legal problems, prompting the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to threaten to "suspend" India. In a brief letter to members of the IOA's Executive Council, the IOC and Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) jointly brought up the issue of autonomy and violation of the Olympic charter (EC). Narinder Batra resigned from his positions as the president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and a member of the IOC four days prior to the IOC's letter after his appeal to be reinstated as the head of the IOA was rejected by the two-judge bench of the Delhi High Court.
