The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed that the status quo in the Bengaluru Idgah Maidan dispute be preserved and that Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations be staged elsewhere. "As a responsible political party, we respectfully accept the decision of the Supreme Court with regards to holding Ganesh Utsav in the disputed area," says BJP's Ganesh Karnik. "This is a welcome judgment on the part of the Supreme Court.
