The Delhi Police have detained a man who is accused of shooting a 16-year-old girl at close range in the Sangam Vihar neighborhood of Delhi with the intent to kill her and because she had ghosted him online. After the shooting, the suspect, identified as Arman alias Amanat Ali, fled the scene. Ali, who is accused of trying to kill the girl, admitted to the police that he met her on social media. According to lawyer and women's activist Mishika Singh, "at some point, everyone realizes that all political parties are only advancing their agenda while women's safety takes a backseat." "Although the offender will be identified, the incident was not the Delhi Police's fault. The safety of citizens in the capital is a serious concern for Home Minister Amit Shah "Advocate Sanket claims.
