The demonstrations were mostly spearheaded by Muslim student organizations, including SIO and MSF, and the girl was forced to quit school after the administration refused to modify their stance on the hijab despite the intervention of her parents and other family members.
Student organizations have demanded that the education department end its association with the school because the institution is violating the constitution. The police began dispersing the gathering that had been stopped in front of the school by barriers.
