According to a senior US embassy official, India is America's top priority for issuance of visas. Washington wants to put the situation back to how it was before COVID-19 by the middle of 2023. There will be around 1.2 million Indian applicants total by the summer of 2023. One lakh visas are anticipated to be issued each month. In the previous year, the US granted almost 82,000 visas.
