Swaminathan said “we are seeing Measles outbreaks in multiple countries. Routine health services were disrupted significantly across the world due to covid. China wants to minimize the number of cases of COVID-19 as low as possible. It has carried out widespread testing, housed the ill in government facilities, and established draconian lockdowns that can cover entire cities in order to do this. China has seen a rise in protests because of its stringent pandemic regulations. The protests show that a large number of Chinese are tired of the protracted lockdowns and extensive testing that are a part of China's "zero-COVID" policy.
