3:02Now PlayingThe Kerala government held talks with the protestor who are against the construction of the port by the Adani group in Kerala’s Vizinjam. Kerala port minister condemns the protest and says that the state cannot afford to lose the project. The port minister further said that five out of the seven demands led by the protestors have already meant. The first ship to berth at the port is by September 2023. The minister affirms that the secularity of the state will be maintained and violence against police personnel will not be tolerated. Protesters from a fishing hamlet claim the port being built by Asia's and the world's third richest man, Gautam Adani, is causing erosion that has affected their livelihoods and has halted construction for almost four months. Despite numerous requests from the Kerala High Court to allow construction to resume, the protest has persisted. Police, however, have so far refrained from acting out of concern that doing so will exacerbate racial and religious tensions.
