The Centre informed the Supreme Court on Monday that it had filed a new petition seeking a larger bench to hear a case involving a constitutional issue concerning the control of services in the national capital. The Delhi government, represented by senior advocate A M Singhvi, objected to the Centre's plea before a bench consisting of Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud and Justice P S Narasimha, saying that "this will only cause delay and such tactics cannot be tolerated." Justices M R Shah, Krishna Murari, Hima Kohli, and P S Narasimha round out the five-judge panel.
