According to senior Congress leader Pawan Khera, "the Government, the party, the administration, the election machinery, everything is rolled into one in Gujarat." Mr. Khera claimed that despite several representations made by his party to the electoral commission at various levels, it appears that the election watchdog is 'willingly under pressure.' PM Modi's dramatic entrance to the polling place to the crowd's applause has drawn criticism from the Congress and other Opposition parties, including the Trinamool Congress.
