26:01Now PlayingThe Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has not lost an election in Gujarat since 1995, set a new all-time high by winning 156 of 182 seats in the 2022 Assembly election. The saffron party has ruled Gujarat for 27 years, but it has never won an election with such a large mandate. Apart from breaking its own record, the BJP, which ran a glitzy campaign on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home turf, has also surpassed the Congress' 1985 tally. The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has won at least 92 seats in the Gujarat Assembly elections and will form the government for the seventh time in a row. The BJP retained Gujarat by winning 156 of the 182 Assembly seats, while the opposition Congress won 17 and the AAP won 5. The BJP won 99 seats in the 2017 elections.
