After large explosions were heard close to the hotel, it was discovered that a hostage-like situation may have occurred. According to a witness, "There was a really loud explosion and then a lot of gunshots," according to news agency AFP. According to reports, the explosion occurred on Monday in Shahr-e-naw, one of Kabul's biggest shopping districts.
