On January 9, 2022, the day of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Prakash Purab, Prime Minister Modi said that December 26 will be observed as "Veer Baal Diwas" in honor of the bravery of the "Sahibzades," the four sons of the last Sikh guru. At the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi said, "We must break free from the limited viewpoints of the past if we wish to propel India to unprecedented heights of prosperity."
