Meanwhile, roads and fissures on the walls of buildings in Karnaprayag, another hill town in Uttarakhand, have triggered more fears. Karnaprayag is located just 82 kilometers from Joshimath. Over two-dozen houses at Bahguna Colony in Karnaprayag have developed cracks. These cracks were unreported and started appearing about a decade ago, say report.
