5:27Now PlayingOn Thursday, the Tamil Nadu legislature unanimously approved a resolution urging the Union government to move quickly to carry out the Sethusamudram ship canal project. It stated that the Tamil Nadu government would offer full cooperation for the project's implementation. The resolution had the backing of all parties, including the AIADMK, the BJP, the PMK, and the DMK allies the Congress, the VCK, the MDMK, and the Left parties. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin moved a cabinet decision, stating that "The Sethusamudram project is necessary to strengthen the economic development of Tamil Nadu and India." The Supreme Court grants Centre time till Feb 1st week to respond on plea seeking 'Ram Setu's declaration as national heritage monument.
