3:12Now PlayingMumbai Iqbal Singh Chahal, the head of the BMC, and other city officials have received notifications from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) requesting information regarding the allegedly unauthorised awarding of contracts to Lifeline Hospital Management Services (LHMS) during the Covid-19 outbreak. The medical service provider was hired by BMC to work in Jumbo Covid Centers, purportedly costing the BMC ₹38 crores in lost revenue. Key EOW official on Friday acknowledged that the Mumbai police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) had also delivered similar notices to senior BMC executives. According to ED sources, the agency has initiated a parallel investigation to check into possible money-laundering in the awarding of contracts to LHMS based on the criminal case being looked into by the Mumbai police.
